Art meets consciousness: Irene Winkler exhibits in St. Gallen
We’re delighted to share that Irene Winkler, a dedicated member of the eAcademy, will be exhibiting her artwork at the OpenArt Museum in St. Gallen from August 27 to October 22, 2025.
This exhibition is not just a collection of visual works – it’s a deeply personal exploration. Irene’s theme centers around the realization of her dissociative identity structure and how this experience has given rise to a meaningful, enactive perspective on consciousness and life. As a neuropsychologist previously shaped by conventional scientific models, Irene now brings a radically different lens to how we understand the mind and self.
Through a combination of paintings and short texts, she invites viewers to engage with complex inner realities in an accessible and emotionally resonant way. One of the main challenges – and strengths – of this exhibition lies in translating these profound experiences for a broader, non-specialist audience.
This promises to be a powerful and thought-provoking journey. We warmly encourage anyone near St. Gallen to visit the exhibition and witness how art can illuminate the inner landscapes that science sometimes struggles to describe.
