Introducing the eAcademy

The eAcademy is designed to offer clinicians ongoing support and education to treat chronically traumatised and dissociative patients.

Ellert Nijenhuis and his Associates offer a structured yet flexible learning environment that combines recorded seminars, live clinical training, group supervision, and case-based learning. Members are invited into an active learning process that moves between theory, observation, and clinical application. The emphasis is on developing not only knowledge, but also clinical perception, judgment, and intervention skills in real therapeutic situations.

A central focus of the eAcademy is Enactive Trauma Therapy, an approach that understands psychological suffering as emerging from embodied, relational, and action-based patterns of experience. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, it explores how these patterns can be recognized, engaged, and transformed within the therapeutic relationship.

The eAcademy brings together clinicians from different countries who share a commitment to working more effectively with complex trauma. It is both a training ground and a growing professional community — a place where clinical understanding is continuously refined through dialogue, observation, and practice.

Ultimately, the aim is to support therapists in developing greater clarity and confidence in their work, so they can meet complex clinical situations with steadiness, depth, and effectiveness.

masterclasses

Join Ellert’s online masterclasses discussing relevant themes on treating dissociative patients. These classes are recorded and added to the video library so you can (re)watch these at a later time.

clinical trainings

Members can join clinical trainings hosted throughout the year. Our Associates and Ellert offer trainings of varying group sizes and duration. These trainings are not recorded to maintain a sense of privacy.

supervisions

Each month, a recorded supervision session is added to the library (e.g. “Handling attachment needs and setting boundaries”). You will also receive recommendations from our library of 50+ videos on the same theme for deeper learning and exploration.

Get Certified

Members who have successfully completed the test covering the topics of the first 12 video classes, can receive a certification documenting this impressive achievement.

The minimum test score should be 70% correct on the online multiple choice test.

Taking the exam can be done after one year’s membership. You can take the exam twice without any costs. Till date all members who have taken the exam passed within two times and received a certification.

★★★★★

Ellert’s teachings consistently connects theory to real clinical situations, especially in relating to the different dissociative agents - S. Welsh, clinical psychologist (UK)

★★★★★

A rare integration of deep trauma theory and real clinical guidance. Every time I learn something new from Ellert.
- L. Fischer, psychotherapist (Austria)

★★★★★

My confidence in working with complex trauma has grown significantly. It proves to be a continuous learning process. The focus on supervision and lived clinical processes has been especially valuable.
- A. Moen (Norway), member since 2023

★★★★★

Before the eAcademy, I often left sessions with a sense of uncertainty, especially with dissociative clients. Over time, something shifted — I now feel more present, more grounded, and more able to stay with what is happening in the room without getting lost in it. - B. Perel (Germany)

★★★★★

This training changed how I relate to my clients. I feel less rushed to “fix” and more able to feel what is actually happening in the moment. This alone has made my work more effective. - P. Meier (Switzerland)

YES, you can
watch classes later!

Can’t join a Q&A session? Want to watch a seminar again? No problem.
All public activities are recorded and made available for later viewing. Indefinitely.

The number 1 question from course participants was: “can I watch what you’ve taught us today?” Making video classes to support the basic course was the initial idea behind the eAcademy.

But we’ve come a long way since the launch in 2022 with new online activities to accommodate to all.

eAcademy is different
from Ellert’s basic course

I don’t like online learning…

The eAcademy can’t be compared to regular YouTube videos and MOOCs. Especially when you join the clinical training you will experience you’re part of a smart group of clinicians.

The Family
Story of the eAcademy

Realising he’s not going to live forever,
Ellert finally gave in to Kirande’s plea to digitalise his knowledge.

After Christmas lunch in 2021, father and daughter escaped from the festivities
to fine-tune the educational service package. The eAcademy was launched on New Year’s Eve. Within the first month, we welcomed our 200th member.
To say that we were positively overwhelmed, would be an understatement.

In Spring 2022 we have enlarged our family endeavour with highly talented therapists who have received extensive training by Ellert. Ingrid Autenrieth-Novak, Sina Hulten, Bettina Mombauer, Dagmar Brünner, Uta Meiss and Christopher Scherer now give clinical trainings, host guest seminars and private supervisions. Get to know our team >

In 2023 we are adding Supervision Sessions to the eAcademy, host offline workshops in Europe and offer free webinars to our network. As a cherry on the cake, we organised a successfull international Conference in Brussels.

This year, Ellert is working on a new book. Clearly, our plan to have Ellert work less has not worked out well yet. But the enthusiasm of the eAcademy members and Associates are a driving force to continue healing patients by supporting trauma therapists worldwide.

Kind regards,

Ellert and Kirande Nijenhuis
